PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Volunteers during their project will take part in this activities:
– facilitation on club meeting with Travel club (SIQAmogzauri) it’s club for youth (14 -24), run by youth Georgian workers and EVS volunteers for independent travelers and travel enthusiasts; the aim of the club is to provide a way for like minded people to meet or communicate to exchange ideas, information and experiences; club’s members share travelogues, travel information and experiences, hospitality and friendship, meanwhile increasing their traveler’s skills; together with Georgian leader, EVS volunteers will plan and implement weekly club meeting, get involved in 1 or 2 days trips inside the Georgia’s territory (quarterly);
– cinema sessions for youth with followed discussions (the topics of the movies would be EUropean values, traditiona, civic awareness etc); EVS volunteers together with Georgian Youth workers will organize weekly cinema session for Rustavi youth (age 13-23);
– facilitating of English Teachers in ACCESS – Program Lessons and Enrichment activities (ACCESS program is funded by USA embassy); 25 students from poor families are improving their knowledge of English language, EVS volunteers will support English language teacher to plan and implement various non formal activities to improve leadership and team working skills among participants; the lessons for students are provided 3 times per week;
– facilitating the trainings/workshops about healthy life, gender equality, human rights, environmental and sustainable development issues; SIQA is systematically providing the workshops and trainings for youth in Kvemo Kartli region in the field of the various projects, granted by local donors; EVS volunteers would be involved as facilitators and support person for logistical issues;
– work with youth (age 11-17 and 18 -30)
– work with school civic clubs, volunteers’ support in organizing local actions, strengthening communication between youth comming from city of Rustavi
– organizing workshops for shool Euroclubs
– preparation of short films about local community life and its functioning
– realization of own initiatives relating media, youth mobilization, promotion of tolerance and community, promotion of youth programs.
Many options will be always available for volunteer’s personal projects, all together and with facilitator’s assistance his/her project will be developed. It might be summer camps, youth projects, being developed with new group of study or something else. Volunteer will never be given tasks beyond his/her abilities, and most of the time volunteer will work together with his/her
supervisor. Previous volunteers have implemented several big community actions (Moving Gallery, MusiQucha, SharXperience,Movie under the clouds, I’ve cleaned my street – YOU?); local volunteers were supporting them within within implementation and fundrising.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Bona Fides Asociation as well as SIQA do not have any candidates age requirements, we are going to obey the Programme rules and will choose volunteers in age between 17 and 30 years old. We are open for all of candidatures, doesn’t matter age, but attidtude of candidates. We want to have strongly motivated young people, who will be focused on the project’s objective, that do not turn up that it was only a momentary Georgia trip whim. We are going to not descriminate the volunteers by their sex, we will be objective in our choice and will try to chose the same number of male and female, if the moitivation of them will be equal. We are open for every interested in this project person; gender doesn’t metter. We think and suggest that the volunteer who would be most satisfy about this project, would be a volunteer who would like to take a lot of activities (outdoor and indoor), to share their experiences with other (the paricipants will share their opinion about Georgia, Rustavi – during disscusions), would like to explore Rustavi and Georgia – we’re looking for volunteers who will be interested this country and will desire to enjoy it, would like to learn something about Georgia, Georgian people, culture, historyand language, would like to work with people – youths and all the other interested about them people and finally finds voluntarism very interesting experience, want to share it with another people, should be open, ready to work with a group, sharing his/her flat with another volunteer, should be flexible, spontanic and creative. Volunteers should be also indepedent (HO will give them as much support as they will need but they have to be aware that this project is their time to be used in the best way). Generally, volunteers should be aware about main issues of this project, desire to learn more about it, to take challenges and new initiatives, which are connected with them. For the process of the selection important is:
1. Motivation of participation (especially in this project),
2. The volunteer will not be discriminated by his/her own gender, religion, political or sexual orientation,
3. It is very important for us that the volunteer will be ready for his/her volunteering service (generally awarness),
4. The volunteer will be independent and flexible,
5. The most important thing is his/her creativity to run his/her own project in Rustavi,
6. The volunteer will be open-minded and also a person with big responsibility.
