The project has the following objectives:
• To bring youth workers responsible in EVS coordination/management in their organisations together; to give them space to share their good practices in EVS hosting/sending in excluded areas; to put emphasis on the challenges they face while hosting/sending EVS volunteers in/to rural and deprived urban areas and to look for possible answers to these challenges.
• To address the specific measures in designing EVS hosting placements in rural and deprived urban areas (selecting and preparing volunteers for these concrete placements; acquiring problem solving and crisis management and prevention competences within these placements; and having strong link between the EVS volunteers and local young people in deprived urban and rural areas).
• To start the process of developing a practical guide for hosting EVS volunteers in deprived urban and rural areas and thus to ensure quality measures and guidelines of the EVS hosting placements not only in the organizations involved but in a wider context as well (this objective is considered as a long-term objective of the project).
• To strengthen partnership and to develop new YiA projects, in particular EVS between the organisations involved focusing on rural development, but not limiting to it.
The methodological framework used will be based on the approaches and values of non-formal education. The course is participants-based and entirely participant-oriented, experiences and contributions from participants constitute and inherent part of the Activity.
