OPIS PROJEKTU:

Tytuł projektu: Give youth a chance 2
So the first is to create the Youth Parliment in Ozurgeti with local Youth which will be develop the social skills trough organize debates and meetings about: education system, the system of support the Youth, the scolarships, the Youth policy with town councilmans. The meeting will be lead by volunteers from Poland, they will be responsible for this meetings. Trought this meeting theirs participants will discover the pover of democracy and participation in local policy, they will learn how to have the impact of goverment decisions and how to work on cooperation beetwen Youth and local government.
The second case is the education in the field of human rights and trought organize the meetings, workshops and debates about different areas of human rights, the volunteers would like to talk about: conflicts, predictions, war, discrimination,the different, face of freedom, civil rights.
And the third are the activities in Euro Clubs which will be build the Youth responsibility of looking after these which need help and support of education area. This activities will be also connected with showing the opportunities local Youth how they can develop their language skills and what opportunities gives the Youth in Action Programme.
One of the most important tasks of the hosting organisation is to inform and to educate young people about their opportunities to participate in different programmes and activities, as well to help them to realize themselves as part of Europe. We believe that the best way how to show this is with a real example – a story from the persons, who have experienced some of the opportunities and who can share their experiences and cultural backgrounds are better understandable than just a theory. For this reason we are planning to offer EVS volunteers to share their experience and point of view with other young people in Georgia.
The field of civil society
Volunteers will be also involved in raising awareness of active citizenship and civil society among young people. Volunteers will participate in creating and developing The Youth Parliament of Ozurgeti which will be an educational project designed specially for young people of Ozurgeti (Guria region). The Youth Parliament of Ozurgeti will function as a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas between young people. The Youth Parliament will provide a good opportunity for young people to share their opinions and to improve their capabilities to articulate and represent their interest. The main aims of The Youth Parliament will be to: raise awareness of local issues among young people, promote and build civil society, promote democratic values and contribute to the personal skills development. The Youth Parliament will also encourage young people to implement their initiatives and will help them learning of social and professional skills. Young people will also learn about the workings of democracy. Volunteers will help in the creation of The Youth Parliament of Ozurgeti. Using their experience and knowledge, volunteers will help in organization of election to the new parliament, will provide necessary information for members of the parliament and will take care of functioning of the parliament at all. The Youth Parliament of Ozurgeti should become an advisory body to local authorities on young people’s issues. The volunteers will also have a chance have experience in non-governmental field, using non-formal education’s methods, participating in organisation’s everyday work and arranged activities and developing their own ideas.
Human Rights activities:
In the field of education and european values, an important role will be given to the study of human rights. Volunteers will organize regular meetings with young people and will teach them about human rights and their importance in modern world. According to that human rights will be a main issue of interest during such a meetings. Every meeting will concern human rights and issues connected with them. Meetings will have an open structure. It will be also a place for discussion and exchange of opinions. Volunteers will prepare meetings, presentations and lectures about human rights and topics for discussion. They will be hosts of meetings and moderators of discussions. This kind of meetings will bring young people of Ozurgeti closer to human rights issue and will help them discover common values while respecting the diversity of cultures.
Activities in EuroClubs:
One possibility for the volunteers is to participate in work with the EuroClub that is the meeting place for Georgian Public schools‘ students, interested in themes concerning European Union. Volunteers will help to educate and involve them by informing about different programmes and possibilities to realize their projects, as well as discussing about different cultures and European values and preparing presentations and trainings about topics concerning Europe. Here are included: developing, reinforcing the “EuroClubs” members (school pupils) with new information, knowledge and practical tools; promotion of ”EuroClub” in local communities; working on a webpage of the organisation (creating blogs); communicating with local press: reporting, disseminating the information about ”EuroClub” activities: school championship for intellectual games, artistic performances, sport games; ecological events: cleaning of squares, streets and river banks, charitable events for orphan children: concerts, auctions for handicrafts of “EuroClub” members. Assistance with learning foreign languages for the ”EuroClub” members: organize non-formal foreign language lessons; developing linguistic games.
Working for local youth:
European Awareness activities and events related with the youth information centre located in the office of organisation: assistance in the organizing of competitions (intellectual, educational, sportive), festivals, concerts, exhibitions, displays, discussions etc. connected with the EU, stereotypes, food, leisure, etc – some of listed activities can be done outside; assistance in the organizing of friendly events designed to promote the discovering of European countries (e.g. European breakfasts, picnics, national games etc.) the volunteers can take part in the information campaigns; promote “Youth in Action” programme and especially the EVS among the young members of local community.
Promotion of the region:
To work on multiplication of the effects: during this stage the EVS volunteers will be busy with the promotional work of their work and life in Guria region; they’ll learn how to prepare the short movies about their living in the local community. The volunteers will have an opportunity to learn movie making under the supervising of montage composer and producer from Local Heralding TV Company Guria.
Work conditions:
The volunteers will be work five days per week but not more than 30 hours. The activities starts in different time so they’ll work in different period of day: sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon and some times in the evenings. The have right to have 2 weeks vacation, and per each week the should have two days off.
The places where they’ll work are: EuroClubs in 3 or 4 schools in Ozurgeti and the office of Student Youth Council. Each place is adaption to their activities: in EuroClubs they’re chairs, tables and few computers, in SYC they’re computers and projector.
