Our organization, City of San Clemente, home organization, has developed services and programs for the entire population in the area of ​​social services, employment, local development, environment, consumer, sports, culture, drug prevention, care childhood, youth … and throughout the year educational, cultural, sports activities are organized, etc. It counts with professionals working in different fields of work.

It is accredited as a host organization since 2005. Since 2007 he is also accredited as a coordinating organization. It has developed nine projects SVE (that is developing the tenth) and has hosted 37 volunteers / os in different European countries: Italy, France, Belgium, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Austria, UK … under the Youth in Action program.

Being a local authority, has professionals in sufficient number and qualification to develop the project.

Our project has a duration of 10 months (from October 2015 to July 2016).

Participate in it four volunteers who will perform the following activities:

• 3 volunteers support the work of educators Municipal Nursery School from Monday to Friday from 9.30 to 14.30. This center has a team of six professionals responsible for developing the educational project, aimed at 70 children 5 months to 3 years.
• 1 volunteer support tasks educators Occupational Center of people with intellectual disabilities from Monday to Friday from 9.30 to 14.30. This center has a director / educator and instructor workshops. Develop a project of social integration with various workshops and him attending 10 adult.
• From Monday to Thursday, every day a volunteer, 18 to 20 hours, will support the facilitator and task information Youth Center.
• One day a week for two PGs, depending on the skills, characteristics and capabilities of the volunteers develop workshops linguistic expression in English and / or various workshops leisure time, with children from 6-12 years of this so can develop their potential, contribute to the development of children, promoting socialization and autonomy and to raise awareness of the citizens of San Clemente of belonging to Europe.
• Two hours a week receive training in Spanish.

The project will be a process of informal learning in which young volunteers, develop personal, social and intercultural skills and acquire knowledge and experience in working with children and people with intellectual disabilities, which will benefit their personal development and possible future careers. Through observation, practice and advice from professionals working in these centers, will gradually assuming their own learning and developing the capacity to act. Their initiatives, ideas, creativity and experience when developing their tasks are taken into account.

The goals we are to facilitate, in the presence of volunteers, understanding of the diversity of European culture and shared heritage, our citizens aware of belonging to Europe, facilitate youth charity initiative, to express their values ​​in our community benefit from the development of it and their own, provide learning experiences for volunteers, promote the exchange of cultures that enrich both volunteers and citizens of San Clemente, support the educational task at School Municipal Children in Occupational Center at the Youth Center and complement activities for all children 6-12 years making them more open.

In Kindergarten all educational activity is subject to the fundamental needs of children, sleep, food, health, love, affection, etc. not forgetting those stimulating character, aimed at the development of all abilities. The activities performed in this stage should be education and training, from diapering, to tell a story. The work at this stage has as a priority, the socialization of children, ie accustom to live in groups, to respond collectively to the slogans of adults and to respect certain rules of educators. Relationships have to be warm and affectionate within an environment where they feel loved and can in turn, show affection, advancing its full development. Children should feel safe, cared for, loved and valued, in order to build a positive and accurate picture themselves.

In the Occupational Center is working to increase personal and social competence and therefore improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities living in San Clemente and region.

People attending the Occupational Center have a disability that has not allowed access to a standardized employment or a special employment center.

The actions to be undertaken will aim to facilitate access to more inclusive level of employment that can reach every person, taking into account the individuality and specificity of each.

The center will offer an occupational activities in order to promote and enhance the capacity of / as users / as helping to develop their autonomy and their social training and work authorization. It will seek to enhance their social integration and public awareness regarding the standard acceptance of this group.

The role of volunteers in the project is to support the educational work of the various professionals responsible for each of the groups of both children / as the Municipal Infant School and adults with intellectual disabilities in the Occupational Center. The tasks performed volunteers in any case replace a job, they always made with educators and with the support and coordination of the project manager and aimed at meeting the objectives.

The personnel involved in this application, in the area of ​​early childhood education, are qualified professionals with work experience of 18 years. They are all equipped with the experience of taking part in the development of ten EVS projects.

The person responsible for the project of social integration of people with intellectual disabilities also has experience of over 20 years in working with these people.

The person responsible for developing the project has ten years of experience in developing and implementing EVS projects as host organization and eight years as a coordinating organization.

The City of San Clemente, wants to expand the field of experiences and participate in activities that enrich both personally and socially volunteers and citizens and raise awareness of belonging to Europe and to contribute and participate actively in European construction offering the possibility , young people from other European countries, to collaborate in the development and welfare of our community while developing beneficial social, intercultural and personal skills for personal and social development and its possible future career.
